Today’s photo is a Bad Cellphone Photo™ of a fairly typical street corner, full of summer flowers. Every few weeks someone from the city decides chopping it all down to bare dirt and stubble and litter looks better, but right now it’s in full bloom and very purple.
Saturday we met up with the tour my parents were on, and had dinner with my aunts and uncle in Alzey. The next day we brought my parents back to Freising and stopped for a walk around Nördlingen on the way home. The town is notable for still having its medieval defense wall still intact,… Continue reading Photopost: Nördlingen
My parents were here for a couple of weeks, and we all went to Salzburg for a weekend. My mother likes the movie The Sound of Music, and took me to the musical when I was a child, so of course we took her on a tour of some of the sites where the movie… Continue reading Austria: Sound of Music Tour

This was a fabulous exhibition put on by the Haus der Bayerischen Geschichte, a state historical agency that holds exhibitions around the state. The hosts for this exhibition were the former Cisternian kloister, now a parish… Continue reading Ausflug: Bier in Bayern
Not a Freising Freitag, but I just wanted to share something. We met this nice couple earlier this month on a day trip to an exhibition about the history of beer in Bavaria. Their noses are metal cans. I like them. (I’m kind of forgetting how to write in English. Also I’m worried that I’m… Continue reading Photo Post: Brautpaar
